Monday Night Fight

If you look very closely, you will see my green dinosaur and my Violet, thus her name, in my bed.  Last night I decided that my beloved dinosaur, which I actually picked out all by myself at Petsmart, was going to be with me all night.

When it was time to go to bed, my Mommy said that all my toys that were laying on the rug needed to get into their basket, so they could go to sleep.  She stood there looking at me and telling me to put them into my bed.  I looked back at her as if to say "What are you, nuts?" and ignored her request.  Since I didn't budge, as usual, she did it herself.  The minute she put all my toys into the basket, I ran over there and took my dinosaur out and decided it was time to play.  She said "No, Missy, it's time to go to bed.  Let's put the toy back in the basket".  She took my toy and put it back and I instantly ran to the basket and got my toy in my mouth once again and took it over to the rug. I was still thinking play time even though I knew it was time for bed.  Now, I've heard stories of three chances and your out, but she continued to stay calm.  She took my toy once again and put it back in the basket.  This time I decided I was going to get my toy and make a run for it.  The second she put it back in my basket, I tore up behind her, grabbed the toy in my mouth and headed for the bedroom.  She gave up and I WON!!!!  She told me that it was okay if I wanted two toys in bed last night.  I was so happy and laid my head down and went right to sleep.  You know, if she would have just left the toys out on the floor, I would not have even thought about taking my buddy into bed.  I doubt if she will learn from this though.  Just leave them where they are.

I'M BACK

Hi Everyone,

I'm back, which can be taken in two ways.  I'm back on my blog, plus I'm back from the beauty salon.  It really doesn't take that long when my Mom takes me.  My appointment was at 11:00 and I was finished by 12:45.  When my mom came to pick me up, Terry, the lady that grooms me, said she had to use a "blade" that made my hair shorter because I was matted around my neckline.  My mom said she knew that, and has been trying to get the mats out, but I guess she couldn't.  Now my hair is, let's say "buzzed" and I'm cute, so that's all that matters.  I guess I'll just have to go sooner the next time and let my mommy brush me when my hair begins to grow out.  Anyway, when I got home and my mommy came outside with me, I decided I didn't like the way that I smelled, SO, I rolled and rolled and rolled all over the back yard.  Now I smell like my old self again and I am a happy girl to be back home.

Don't Let the Night Time Bugs Bite

Last night I was being a good little girl, laying in my bed and trying to go to sleep, like my Mommy and all of a sudden I see something moving on the floor.  I've never claimed bravery, so I get out of my bed and start heading out of the bedroom.  All of a sudden I hear my Mommy say my name and telling me to come back in the bedroom.  I came back in, like a dutiful little doggy, and started smelling over by the chair.  By this time, my Mommy is up and she sees IT........a medium sized bug crawling on the floor.  She didn't have anything at the time to kill it, so she hurried out to the kitchen, with me behind her (I wasn't going to stay in that bedroom alone with a bug) so she could get the fly swatter and some paper towels to pick it up after it's demise.  We hurry back into the bedroom and there it was, ready to scamper under the bed.  She smacked it, but didn't get it.  I looked at her as if to say "What the #%!@ is that thing?"  I was wondering if I should be scared she might smack me with it.  Anyway, we waited...Mommy sitting in the chair, I in my bed.  Mommy decided to get the flashlight out and was going to get down on the floor to look under the bed when she suddenly saw it over by her dresser.  As I watched, she went over there and smacked the heck out of it and then picked it up with a paper towel and dumped it in the garbage.  She doesn't know what kind of bug it was, but at least it's gone and I more-or-less stuck by her side. She told me I was a good girl and relatively brave.  She then went back to bed and guess what?  I jumped up on the bed and laid as close to her as I could.  When I finally felt a little better, I got back into my own bed, but Mommy did comfort me and showed me that we always have to try and be brave.

I'm Cool and I'm Cool

Ah, all that hair is finally gone.  My mommy finally took me to the beauty salon and I am officially beautiful, once again.  They probably got 3 pounds of fur off from my body and now I am so much cooler meaning temperature wise and I am cooler meaning I am so pretty too.  I wasn't quite done when my mommy came to get me, but I just stood up on the table and didn't even make a fuss.  I had my tail down between my legs because I wanted my mommy to see I was not a happy camper to have someone else touching me, but on the other hand, it was good to have my hair done.  My Lord, there was another dog that looked like me, but she had a big "poof" on the top of her head and when my mom came in, I guess she thought it was her mom because she just started going nuts.  Terry, the owner of the salon, told this dog to quiet down, that it wasn't her mom.  I was standing up there thinking, that's my mom, not yours.  Anyway, my mommy wanted to take a picture of me, but I'm going to take a nap because I am so worn out.  Maybe I'll let her do it later.  Night, night.

How Dare She

My mommy did it, the most dastardly thing a person can do to a doggy's toy.  SHE WASHED IT.  Last weekend, one of my sisters, and you know who you are, told my mom that she needed to wash my toy, Violet.  So, what did she do today when she did her laundry?  She stuck Violet in the washing machine and the dryer.  So, Violet is clean now, but it's going to take me a while to get used to her smell.  I played with her some, but please mommy, don't wash her again.  I need to get her back to her normal smell.

Gingerly Walking to the Toy Basket

I haven't done very many exciting things lately, so my mommy hasn't written on my blog.  I decided it was about time to change this and make my mom's mouth drop wide open.  As I have mentioned before, she bought me a basket to put my toys in, and then I could get them out myself.  I usually get one or two out each morning and just leave them on the rug in the family room.  She has talked to me about putting my toys away at night, but to no avail.  Last night my mom was sitting on the couch, watching television, and she sees me walking gingerly out to the family room.  I had my favorite toy Violet in my mouth and walked over to the toy basket.  I dropped Violet right in the basket and left her there, laying with the other toys.  I looked at my mommy and her mouth had dropped open.  She said she could not believe that I actually brought my toy out and put it in the basket.  Violet had been in the bedroom all by herself and I thought maybe she was lonesome and being the good friend that I am to her, I brought her out to be with the other toys.  When it was time to go to bed, my mommy told me to get Violet out of the basket and bring her to bed, but I didn't want to.  I'm not sure why, but I thought maybe she would like to spend the night with the other toys.  Maybe I'm trying to give her up, like a child gives up their blanket.  Nevertheless,  my mom picked Violet up  because she was afraid I would be lonesome for Violet and brought her into the bedroom.  I usually have my paw on Violet when I fall asleep, so I know I'm safe.  I'm glad I made my mommy amazed at me and so happy.  Maybe if I bring Violet out again tonight and put her in the basket, my mom might get a hint.

Don't Slam the Door in my Face

This morning my dad went back to bed at 7:00 this morning....we won't mention why, and it made me very angry.  I'd like to use a different word that starts with a "P", but I am only about 3 years old and I think my mommy would not like that too well.  Just ask me how I know that word....ha ha.  It would not have been so bad, BUT my mommy was in the shower, and I saw absolutely no reason why he had to close the door to the room he was in.  I could have been in the room with him and not bothered him, but whatever.   So, being the dog that I am, I decided to go and discover what was up on the end table by the bed.  Oh, what did I find you ask?  A completely big glass of water that I decided to take a drink out of.  When my mommy was done with her shower and making the bed, she felt the floor was wet and of course her first thought was that I tinkled on the floor, but then she saw the glass was tipped over.  There was water all over the end table and the floor.  She didn't get upset at me at first because I was out in the other room   But duh, stupid me, when I did come back in the room, I got up on the bed and put my feet on the end table. My mommy was standing right there.  Whoops....guilty.  I imagine in the future, she will move the glass when she gets up, just like she does in the family room.  I'm sorry mommy I am causing you more problems, but you have to remember one thing,  I am young and I still have puppy in me, but I love you very much  :-)
