This is the Last Straw

Can you see her, can you see her?  My precious Violet was taken away from me this morning.  I had been playing with her and my mommy, and then I got tired and decided to lay down and take a nap.  I swear, the minute your back is turned, something happens.  I had been sleeping and then woke up and noticed my Violet was missing.  I noticed that contraption you put dirty clothes in was gone too, so I jumped off the bed and went out of the bedroom and saw that thing by my mommy, who was on the computer.  I saw that she wasn't looking, or so I thought, and took Violet out and took her back into the bedroom and up on the bed.  Before I knew it, here comes Mommy into the bedroom and picks Violet up and tells me that she has to get a bath.  I was trying to get Violet out of her hand, but she wouldn't let go.  She said, "No, Missy, Violet needs a bath.  She is so dirty and it will be okay."  Well, I know all about baths and I know my violet might drown.  None of that mattered.  Out to the laundry room she went and I followed.  I almost panicked, but kept myself intact and just stared at my Violet, telling her, telepathically, that she will be okay and I will be here when she is done.  Now I know how my Mommy feels when she takes me to the groomers.  I know it's for the best, but I am still not a happy little doggy.  I have to wait for Violet to get dried and then I will be happy again.

Don't be Afraid

I had to go and get groomed today.  Don't get me wrong, the people are really nice there, but I just hate being away from my mommy for too long.  You know I'm always by her side to protect her.  Anyway, when I was all done and my mommy came to pick me up, Beth, my groomer, told my mom that I was a good girl and my mom was telling her how I talk at home.  Beth said, "Oh, she was talking here today to another dog that was right next to her"  My mom was shocked because I usually "growl" at other dogs.  I think I wanted to be a good doggy and friend and help this other dog named Buster, become calmer.  Beth had told my mom that this dog had a bad experience at the last place where it was groomed, which of course I knew...he told me, and she said Buster and I were talking back and forth.  Well, of course, Buster was telling me that the last place he went to, they were mean to him. They were rough and yelled at him.   I told him he didn't need to worry about "Hot Dogs and Cool Cats" and that I had been coming to them for 6 years and they are always nice and kind.  That made him happier and then we just talked about dog stuff.

When I saw my mommy come in, I was so excited.  When we got into the car she told me I get the "Good Friend Award" and that she was very proud of me.  I helped another doggy to feel better about his situation.  I felt bad when I left because he was whining, but I needed to go and get home.  My mommy was glad to see that I could actually get along with another dog.
