Forget Social

I know that a lot of doggies like each other, but I am not one of them.  Apparently I am like most of the other dogs my parents have had.  They never liked other animals; it's either all about them and me, or forget it.

Yesterday my mommy took me to the neighbor in back of us because the neighbor has a dog named Duchess.  Marcy (the neighbor) was talking to my mom the other day and said it would be nice for us (Duchess and myself) to play.  When I heard that, I thought I didn't want to play with that dog, all she does is bark, bark, and bark.  She never shuts up.  I have to admit that when I go outside to go potty, I will stand by the fence and whine sometimes, but I hear different barks and I am afraid she might be hurt or something else is wrong.  Anyway, I went to Marcy's house with my mom (she carried me) and she put me down on the floor when we got inside, and of course, the normal doggy thing happened....my butt was being smelled.  Now, I know this is normal dog behavior, but hey I DON'T DO THAT.  I do not care what other dogs smell like in that area, so leave me alone.  I started growling after a few minutes, so my mom picked me up.  We still stayed there for a little bit so my mom's neighbor and herself could talk for a little bit.  The whole time we were there, my mommy held me on her lap and each time I saw Duchess, I growled like crazy.  I just wish she would not come near me.  My mom kept saying Duchess was such a good girl (whoop-dee-doo) and that I wasn't being very nice, but do you think I cared?  Nope I did not care one bit.  I was in my mommy's arms and that is all I needed.  I am happy being an only child so whatever.  After a while, my mommy brought me home and I was finally happy and laid down and went to sleep on my own floor.

...and I Think I'm Getting Away With Something.

Once upon a time, I only had three toys.  For the life of me, I never realized I had a whole bunch of toys.  My mommy had this plastic milk can in the family room and it had doggy toys in it.  Obviously I didn't know they were in this container, even though they had offered me different toys before.  Yesterday, that big milk can disappeared and now there is a nice little basket (my size) that I can see all the different toys that they have for me.  For some reason, I automatically knew that basket and toys were for ME!!!  When I am alone, I go through this basket and find other fun things to play with and take outside.  When my mommy got home from the doctor today, it was super windy, so she went outside to put the trash can in front of the gate to make sure it didn't blow open and what to her wondering eyes did appear?  There on the patio was a little white toy that was shaped like a baby and my dad's stocking cap.  She asked me how in the heck did I get that hat, but I'm not telling.  She told me she wants to try and teach me how to put my toys away at night, but good luck with that one.  Maybe, just maybe if I get enough treats, I'll do it.  I'm not going to promise that one though.  I'm sure if I do end up taking care of my toys, it will end up on my blog.

The Alarm Clock Wouldn't Stop

My mommy got up earlier than normal for reasons she told me not to mention.  She was in the bathroom putting on her make-up and she had forgotten to turn her alarm clock off.  I know what that sound is, because when she's asleep and it goes off in the morning, I know that's my cue to go in and jump on her...hehehe.  Anyway, I knew she was in the bathroom, like I already said, so I ran in the bathroom and then looked at the bedroom.  She  hadn't heard the alarm going off until I ran to the bathroom, so then she started walking toward the bedroom to shut it off.  I'm faster than her though, so I ran really hard to the bedroom and jumped on the bed.  I put my feet on the night table where the clock is and she doesn't know it, but I was going to put it in my mouth and bring it to her, but she beat me to it and turned it off.  I must say though, she was completely impressed with me and told me I was the smartest little girl she ever knew.  That was so nice.
